A guided 6 hour private tour. The Gourmet wine and food tour has education and experience in mind. It is designed for those who have a real interest in wines and gourmet foods. Each of the stops has been specifically designed with an emphasis on wine appreciation, wine and food matching, or wine education and viticulture. Visit some of Marlborough’s icon wineries for wine and food matches, private winery tours and wine maker talks.
Itinerary
Start the day with a visit to Te Whare Ra for a vineyard and winery tour. This is an exceptional learning experience for those wanting to learn more about viticulture and producing fine wines.
Arrive at the brand new Nobilo Drylands winery restaurant for a stunning wine and food match entrée. Sample stunning Marlborough foods such as Greenshell Mussels and Salmon matched to Nobilo wines.
Up onto the foothills to Highfield Estate to enjoy the best views in the region matched to fantastic food and stunning wines. Enjoy a main course and dessert matched to the stunning wines of Highfield.
Onto Grove Mill to enjoy a wine tasting with a difference. This fun and educational experience includes aroma demonstrations, and wine tasting with matching food and one as an acid/sugar demonstration. A short walk through the wetlands or the vine library can also be included.
Finish the day with a visit to Marlborough’s Icon winery, Cloudy Bay, for a tasting of these world famous, award winning wines.
