Aquacultural Experience Tour - 2 hours

Our 'Aqua Tour' is a unique Stewart Island experience.

Begin by buzzzing from Golden Bay Wharf across scenic Paterson Inlet and into sheltered Big Glory Bay. First stop is a guided tour around a mussel farm. Seabuzzz comes into her own here as most mussel farming takes place under water - it is here that Bruce opens the Seabuzzz glass underwater viewing port. He then explains all the sights to be seen. (Don't worry about all the facts and figures - he also gives you a fact sheet to peruse at leisure!)

Tearing yourself away from this underwater world, you buzzz over to a salmon farm where we have the exclusive rights to disembark. We won't go into detail here about what you see on the salmon farm - it would only spoil the treat! Enough to say that you will be delighted by the sight of salmon in all their stages of development!

Again, our fact sheet means that you can concentrate on absorbing the colour and action, knowing full well that you have all the details to take home with you. However, you don't hesitate to ask Bruce any of the questions that are bound to come to mind as you wander around the farm. Big Glory Bay is a scenic delight in its own right, so before turning for home, Bruce will cruise the coastline, keeping a sharp lookout for albatross, seals, penguins and any number of sea-loving creatures - both residents and visitors.

This trip leaves from, and returns to, Golden Bay (a 15-minute stroll from our centrally-located Seabuzzz Office). You should allow two hours for the return trip,
